I don't know about you, but hand-me-downs were a life saver (and a budget saver!) when my kids were little. We used to get clothing by the car load from friends and relatives. I was so blessed to be able to use so many of them. While I loved getting those bags all the time, storing and organizing the clothing was a nightmare. Twice a year I would dread the process of changing over the clothes. I wish I knew then what I learned today. My friend Amy has an absolutely amazing way to store and organize hand me downs that I think you're going to love. Come take a look!

Storing and Organizing is the Key
So what did you think? Isn't that amazing? I know it seems like you'd need a lot of space, but it really depends on the number of kids you have and the volume of clothing you get. A spare closet, an attic area, even a spot in the garage could work with some modifications.
Hand me downs are great so don't turn them away just because you don't have a good way to store and organize them!
Look around your house and decide where you do have the space and see if this system will work for you. I admit, if all I had was a crawl space for storage, I would opt for bins over bags to help keep the musty smell away. Again, this won't work for everyone, but I bet it will work for a lot of people.
Of course, no matter what your system is, if you don't do it consistently it will still be a nightmare. If you need help with being consistent, check out these 5 concrete actions you can take to keep your system in order.
How do you store and organize hand me downs? I'd love to hear about your system so feel free to share in the comments. After all, sharing information like this is how we help each other!
